Representing C.S. Brown High School STEM at the competition was 16-year-old Sanai Dempsey. The C.S. Brown sophomore took the theme of triumph and tragedy and focused it on the “Apollo 13”.

Dempsey decided to compete in the Senior Exhibit category with her topic. The student was judged by three different judges who analyzed her work and asked her questions throughout. In the end, Dempsey’s work and dedication was rewarded with first place in the Regional competition.

This win qualifies Dempsey to participate in the National History Day State Competition that will take place in Raleigh on Saturday, April 27.
