WOODLAND, NC – Jody Ancil Soper passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Jody was born in Jacksonville, FL on June 19, 1969 to Will and Judy Soper. A good man to many, he helped so many people in his life. He worked with Dana Suttels Truck Leasing for 23 years. Jody was a member of Lighthouse of Hope Church in Woodland and was a volunteer fireman with Woodland Fire Department for 15 years. Jody was a good husband of 24 years, a great “deddy” to his girls, a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Will Soper, Jr.
Jody is survived by his wife, Vickie Outland Soper; his mother, Judy Soper Warren; his daughters, Alexis and Ashlyn Soper, all of the home; his sister, Michelle Mace of Conway; his brothers, Jason Hill of Danville, VA and Will “Billy” Soper, III of Rich Square; his in-laws, Barbara and Freddie Outland of Woodland; his brother-in-law, Brad Outland and wife Jessica of Wilmington; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square with Reverend Brian Jenkins officiating.
The family would like to thank all of the people that have helped with loving deeds and support during Jody’s time of need.
