Judith W. Ruffin

AHOSKIE – Judith Starr Williams Ruffin, age 73, of Ahoskie, NC died peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 with her family by her side.

Mrs. Ruffin was born in Rocky Mount, NC on December 6, 1944 to the late Blanche Dilday and James Stark Williams. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ahoskie.

Judi Starr was a vibrant, beautiful, well-spoken woman. She married Jennings Bryan Ruffin, Jr., the love of her life, in 1962 shortly after graduating from Ahoskie High School and attended Wake Forest University. She took great pride in being a loving wife and mother, and devoted daughter and sister. She enjoyed working with people in various activities throughout her life. The highlight of her professional career was her role as Vice President of Ruffin Associates, Inc., a company created with her husband which supported many local businesses throughout Eastern North Carolina and along North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jennings Bryan Ruffin Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Dinah Williams Law and her husband Larry Law of Kill Devil Hills, NC; her daughters, Laura Elizabeth Ruffin of Hillsborough, NC and Annie Catherine Ruffin of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and her three beautiful grandchildren, Haley Ashton Daniels, Jessen Lee Saylor, and Emily Elizabeth Skrypek.

A celebration of life service was held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Chapel of Garrett~Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, North Carolina.
