COLERAIN, NC – Pearl Hoggard Brown, age 79, passed away on December 7, 2017 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Brown was born on January 7, 1938 to Horace and Sarah Frances Russell in Bertie County, NC. Pearl worked as a nursing assistant for most of her life. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Earl Conner and William Beecher Conner.

Pearl is survived by her two sons, Billy Hoggard of Harrellsville, NC, and Wayne Conner and wife Michelle of Aulander, NC; daughter, Dorothy Earley of Harrellsville, NC; brother, Alvin Russell of Windsor, NC; six granddaughters, Crystal Earley of Ft. Hood, TX, Crystal, Brittney, and Ashley Conner of Aulander, Pam Barnett of Woodruff, SC, and Elizabeth Conner of Sanford, NC; one grandson, John Lamm of Sanford, NC; and her significant other, Wilmer Jones of Murfreesboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, NC.
