CONWAY – Simene’ Walden – also known as “The Student Teacher” – will sign copies of her new book – Standing on His Words” – from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the Conway Ruritan Club building, located at 300 Hundley Circle.

The free event will feature snippets from the book, a Back to School Prayer Guide, and free desserts.

Walden is a teacher by vocation, but is always in a place of learning something new that will catapult her to the next level in her destiny. She worked as a Middle School Language Arts teacher in the State of North Carolina for 12 years and now teaches in the state of Maryland where she will soon begin her 14th year of public school teaching.

She believes in being teachable and always in the posture of learning even from those that one may not think has anything to offer.

Walden’s primary objective is to teach others everything she learns so they too can be empowered, educated, and equipped.

“The Student Teacher’s” goal through her book is to encourage and empower individuals to pray and believe God for the miraculous within the educational gates.

“If God is not glorified, it becomes vain and an idol,” she said. “The concerns, issues, and problems that we see arising and many that have arose and manifested within the school systems will not be stopped unless God intervenes. How can he intervene unless his people execute His will that is in heaven to be made manifest in this earth.”

Walden was born in Hertford County and raised in Northampton County. She attended Northampton County Public Schools and after graduating she went to Fayetteville State University. In the process of that five year span, she had attended two different colleges only to find herself back where she started; Fayetteville State University.

In 2004, Walden graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English & Literature. Ten years later, she graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master’s of Arts Degree in Christian Studies with an Emphasis on Youth Ministry.

She is active in her local church, Temple of Praise International Church in Beltsville, MD. There she serves on the intercessory, vanguard, and finance team. She has a heart for the youth and is a teacher by vocation. She has recently launched her Educational Consulting Business The Student Teacher.

Copies of her book will be on sale in Conway on Sept. 9 or online at bit.ly/2StandBook.
