PENDLETON – John Thomas (Tommy) Beasley, 61, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

A lifelong native of Northampton County, Tommy was born on March 26, 1956. He was a lifetime farmer, with his love of farming beginning on the Roanoke River Ranch alongside his grandfather, W.P. Morris. From here, Tommy’s appreciation of nature, the outdoors, and a love of the land only grew, which he never took for granted.

Tommy also worked for Glover Materials before joining T&B Farms. However, the most prized farming years were spent with his brother,

Jerry, on Beasley Bros. Farms in Jackson, continuing the legacy his grandfather began. Tommy’s love of farming was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Nancy Mann Beasley of the home; their children, John Nathan Beasley and wife Anna of Raleigh, and Emily Beasley Williams and husband Jason of Severn; two grandchildren, George Thomas Beasley and Nolan Wayne Williams; his parents, James and Harriet Beasley of Jackson; brothers, Morris and wife Sheryl, Joseph, Jerry and wife Judy, and Bill and wife Kaye; and many nieces and nephews.

Tommy attended the Agricultural Institute of North Carolina State University. He was a member of Jackson Methodist Church and attended Roberts Chapel Baptist Church after moving to Pendleton.

Not only will he be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend, but also for his words of wisdom quotes, his wellspring of musical knowledge, and amazing ability to recall names, dates, and places.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Roberts Chapel Baptist Church. The Reverend Doctor James Crocker will be officiating.
