COLERAIN, NC – Eleanor Jones Turner, age 76, passed away on June 29, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Turner was born on July 7, 1940 to Horace Wesley and Maggie Blanche Willoughby Jones in Gates, NC. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. Eleanor owned and operated E & J Grocery in Colerain as long as her health permitted. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Eleanor adored her time with her dog, Kelly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Wendorf.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Fenton; one son, Jeff Turner and wife Paula of Colerain; one grandson, Brandon Lee Turner and wife Kenzy of Colerain; twin granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Turner of Colerain; one sister, Delores Mills and husband Wayne of Ft. Pierce, FL; and one brother, Wesley Jones and wife Jean of Winton, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 11:00 am at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Gary Mickey, officiating.
