Perry L. Collier Sr.

WOODLAND, NC – Perry Lee Collier, Sr., age 82, passed away on June 19, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Collier was born on August 21, 1934 to Luther Perry and Katherine Bridgers Collier in Northampton County, NC. Perry owned and operated Perry’s Repair Service as long as his health permitted. He was a member of Potecasi Baptist Church and a retired firefighter with the Woodland Volunteer Fire Department. Perry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nella Frances Bryant Collier; brother, Jimmy Collier; and sister, Doris Sitterson.

Perry is survived by his daughter, Debbie Collier Floyd and husband Alton of Florence, SC; two sons, Perry Lee Collier Jr. and wife Yvonne, and Robert Luther Collier and wife Pam, both of Woodland, NC; eight grandchildren, Ray Floyd and wife Summer, Chris Floyd and wife Sarah, Corey Floyd, Chris Collier, Stephanie Collier, Todd Frazer, Johnathan Collier and wife Jessica, and Jessica Collier; and four great-grandchildren, Bryson and Charlotte Floyd, Matthew Collier, and Brendon Davis.

The family will receive friends at the home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Potecasi Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Browder, and the Rev. Brian Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NC.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Perry’s caregiver, Rose Bennett for her outstanding dedication and love shown to him, as well as the lifelong friendship and care that Dr. John H. Stanley has given as well.
