MURFREESBORO – The town of Murfreesboro recently gained a new member for the Planning Board. Patricia Harris was affirmed at the regular Town Council meeting on May 24.

Harris filled in the seat left behind by another member who failed to attend Planning Board meetings. According to the Council, if a board member misses three or more meetings, then he or she will be replaced.

Both the previous board member and Harris were notified of this decision before the Council meeting on Wednesday.

After placing her hand on the Bible presented by Town Mayor John Hinton and taking the oath, Harris addressed the Council and her fellow Planning Board members in attendance to express her appreciation for the opportunity.
