AULANDER, NC – William Gerald Hall, age 73, passed away on March 5, 2017 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Gerald was born on September 15, 1943 to George and Susan Simmons Hall in Elizabeth City, NC. He attended and was very involved at St. John Baptist Church. Gerald loved everybody, never met a stranger, and everyone loved him. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, with a grin that you knew he was up to no good, cutting jokes even when he was sick. Gerald spent a lot of time in his shop, known to be able to fix anything. He enjoyed working for Pierce Farms and fishing when he got the chance. Gerald loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by all that knew him, always signing a card with, “Love ME”.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hall, and his sister, Nell White.

Left to cherish Gerald’s memory is his wife Diane; daughter, Brandi Hall Farmer and her husband John; son, Daniel Gerald Hall and his wife Mandy; two grandsons, Trace and Cade Farmer; granddaughter, Kinley Farmer, all of Ahoskie; and in-laws, Ernest and Sue Parker of Ahoskie, and Ron and Jean Burns of Suffolk, VA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, March 7, 2017, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 11:00 am at the St. John Baptist Church, Aulander, NC, with the Rev. Greg Hurdle, officiating.
