Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce Area Business Spotlights

The Ahoskie Chamber’s Small Business spotlight this quarter is A Home-Garden Shop at 804 E. Memorial Drive in Ahoskie.

Owner Pam Lawrence ran her highly successful business for years on Main Street Ahoskie and last year had to make a site change which was a huge undertaking. The new store is equally as enchanting as the old. When you enter you are immediately captivated by a cacophony of aromas that delight the senses. Offerings range from local art works to home décor, soaps and lotions, jewelry and even work apparel.

A Home-Garden Shop draws customers into Ahoskie from the broad region who come to enjoy local access to the finest, unique and avant-garde merchandize available (of course with a bit of Southern flavor). They also offer stunning complimentary gift wrapping?

Pam offers the very definition of welcoming convenient shopping without leaving town.

“We are looking forward to a great year at A Home-Garden Shop. We have settled into our new location, and are excited about serving our customers with fresh pantones of pinks, greens, and deep blues. Pallets of new home décor have arrived, and we are diligently unpacking, and building displays. Drop by to say hello, and enjoy a waft of coffee, Diva, or whatever is melting that day. Thank you for your support, as we all push forward for a positive 2017. Everyday is a gift….open it and spread the cheer,” said Pam Lawrence.

Belk

The Ahoskie Chamber’s Large Business spotlight this quarter is Belk of Ahoskie.

Manager Jerome Soloman and his team work very hard to create an ease of shopping environment. The Chamber finds them frequently rearranging displays as merchandize comes in making it easy for their customers to see all things available to select from. Customer service is a top priority. If an item you want is not in stock, they will order it right from the cash desk and have it sent to you at home or to the Ahoskie store in a day or two. Anything you desire from any Belk is at your fingertips, or theirs.

Belk has transitioned from their signature Madison line into the new Crown Ivey line and you see the difference the minute you walk in the door with the distinctive patterns and colors we love in North Carolina. Belk is the original and only large North Carolina department store still serving the public.

Throughout the year, Belk Ahoskie engages in community interest events such as their Bridal Show, the Charity Day Sale, the Children’s Fashion Show and a fashion show put on for Administrative Professional’s Day.

Belk Ahoskie has exceeded projected goals consistently for the last 12 months and in November 2016 had the biggest Black Friday sale they’ve ever had.

The Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce congratulates their success and thank them for serving our community.
