LEWISTON, NC – Phillip Ray Manning, age 65, of Lewiston passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Vidant Bertie Hospital. Windsor, NC.

Phillip was born May 26, 1951 in Martin County, NC. He is preceded in death by his father, James C. Manning, and mother, Bessie Whitaker Manning.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Manning; brothers, Charles Manning (Kat), James “Cliff” Manning (Peggy), and Rev. Rick Manning (Karman); sister, Paula Manning (Mike); and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Lewiston Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Dunlow and Rev. Rick Manning officiating. Burial followed in Hoggard Memorial Cemetery in Lewiston.

The family received friends at the church prior to the funeral service.
