AHOSKIE, NC – Mary Sue Edmonds Morris, age 61, of Ahoskie, passed away on March 12, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Morris was born in Rocky Mount, NC on January 13, 1955, a daughter of the late Edgar and Hilma Newsome Edmonds. Mary was a woman that loved her family. She was a mother to all she met and her grandchildren were her life, each visit from them bringing light and laughter to her life. Mary enjoyed her flower gardens and was an animal lover, especially a little fellow she found as a puppy and gave a loving home to, named Muttley.

Besides her parents, Mary Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lee Morris.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of over 30 years, Darryl Ireland; her daughters, Susan Elizabeth Morris and husband, Robert of Carrollton, VA, Crystal Annette Morris and fiance’, Brett Holloman of Harrellsville, NC, and Carolyn Nicole Ireland and Victoria Renea Ireland, both of Ahoskie, NC; her son, Robert Lee Morris, Jr. of Independence, VA; her step son, Lucas Ireland of St. Johns, NC; her step daughter, Tatiana I. Grayson of Currituck, NC; a sister, Virginia Elizabeth Ayers of Edenton, NC; two brothers, William Edmonds and wife, Deborah of Tarboro, NC, and Aubrey Edmonds and wife, Cathy of Leggett, NC; twelve grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Joshua, Jessica, Jakira, Isabelle, Annabelle, Devlin, Logan, Carley, Audrey, and Casen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm, at the Ahoskie Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Greg Hurdle, officiating.
