COLERAIN – Mr. Dan Allen Leggett, age 74 of Colerain, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home in Colerain surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 30, 1941 in Bertie County to the late Pat Leggett and Florence Sessoms. Dan served his country with the US Army. He enjoyed playing baseball while he served his two years.

He was married in 1964 to Jean Jones Leggett and to this marriage was born two daughters. Dan was a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church of Trap, NC. Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed target shooting with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Leggett Sessoms; and his father, William Pat Leggett.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jean Leggett of the home; daughter, Michele Leggett Reynolds of Goldsboro, NC and her son Daniel Austin Reynolds, and daughter, Charlene Leggett Murrin of Annapolis, MD.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Dan and Jean Leggett.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11 am at the Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ahoskie, NC with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating.
