GATES – Ervin Roger Saunders, 93, formerly of Gates and an Army veteran of World War II, died Friday, January 1, 2016 in the North Carolina State Veterans Home, Salisbury, NC. Funeral services were held Monday, January 4, 2016 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Edenton, who handled the arrangements. A private burial followed in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
