WINCHESTER, VA – David Aaron Burkette, 73, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Burkette was born in 1942, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, the son of the late Walter D. and Mary J. Burkette. He was a college graduate receiving a Bachelor’s Degree. Mr. Burkette was a junior high school and high school art teacher in Maryland. He enjoyed restoring his Morgan car and was a member of the Morgan Car Club.

He married Patricia Clara Worley on October 21, 1973. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2015.

Surviving is his sister-in-law, Libby McKee, of Roanoke, Virginia. His brother-in law, Larry Worley, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Chapel at the Village at Orchard Ridge, 400 Clocktower Ridge Drive, Winchester, Virginia, 22603 with Reverend Bill Boldin and Reverend Richard Broome officiating.
