Nell B. Edwards

PENDLETON – Nell Brown Edwards, 85, widow of William David Edwards, Sr., passed away December 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Murfreesboro, NC and was a daughter of the late William Northcott Brown and Beatrice Smith Brown and was also predeceased by a sister, Jane Evans, and a brother, Jay Brown.

A daughter of a Quaker clergyman, Mrs. Edwards attended Westtown School in Westchester, PA and the Roanoke Chowan Community College Nursing School.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Lollie Carolyn Edwards of Pendleton, NC and Bonnie Glover and husband Mark of Seaboard, NC; and three sons, William David Edwards, Jr. and wife Tina, and Jonathan Brown Edwards all of Ahoskie, and Jody Edwin Edwards and wife Cathy of Kenly, NC, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and her canine companion “Dolly”.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Pendleton Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home, Boykins, VA Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Edwards memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Jacksonville, FL, 32256.
