AHOSKIE – Mr. Cola Harrison, age 89, of Ahoskie, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Harrison was born September 29, 1926 in Bertie County, NC, the son of the late Lonnie Harrison and Rosa White Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his former wives, Jesse Mae Vaughan Harrison, Irene Overton Harrison, and Elsie Piland Harrison.

He was a charter member of Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church, a Board Member, faithful, and a devoted statesman of Higher Ground Church .

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Smithwick; eight step-children, Donald Overton, Johnny Overton, Brenda Piland, Rena Stroud, Tom Piland, June Garris, Vicky Piland and Rebecca Bailey; two grandchildren, William Brown and Justin Smithwick; and several step-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Ahoskie Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Faircloth officiating.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC, on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
