AHOSKIE – Raleigh Joyner Jr., age 77, passed away on December 2, 2015 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Joyner was born in Bertie County on July 22, 1938, a son of the late Raleigh and Helen Wilkins Joyner. Raleigh worked as a bottler and retired as a route salesman for Coca Cola Company. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley Bryant Joyner, two step sons, Joseph Arlen Peede, Jr. and wife Jerri of Ahoskie, NC, and Anthony Dean Peede and wife, Karen of Ahoskie, NC; grandchildren, Stephanie Peede, Jennifer Peede Claxton and husband Josh; Brandon Peede, David Peede, Jeremy Peede, and Scott Peede and wife Carrie; and three great grandchildren, Erika Peede, Elizabeth Peede, and Ethan Peede. Also surviving is his nephew, Thomas Joyner; and niece, Lou Joyner.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 3:00 pm at the Roxobel Kelford Cemetery, Roxobel, NC, with Rev. Billy Presley, officiating.
