WINDSOR – Betty Caroline Butler Cooke 87, of 211 West Gray Street, Windsor, died Monday October 12, 2015 at her home.

She was born in Bertie County on December 18, 1927 to the late Willie F. and Daisy Leigh Byrd Butler and was predeceased by her husband, William Leon Cooke, and her daughter, Leigh Cooke Amborse.  Betty was a member of Cashie Baptist Church and a homemaker.

A memorial service will be held Thursday October 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cashie Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Strother, the Rev. Carrol Tarkington and the Rev. Joseph Cooper.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Carey Heiniger of Wilson; great grandsons, Jackson and Riley Heiniger, and several cousins
