NEW BERN – Doris Hassell Lundy-Gibbs, 89, of New Bern, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Carolina East Medical Center.

She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Morehead City.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Harold Lawrence Lundy and Warren Edward Gibbs.

She is survived by her sons, James Harold Lundy (Jennifer) of Columbia, SC, Dr. Larry Blanchard Lundy (Mary) of Ponte Vedra, FL, Wallace George Lundy of Havelock, and Ronald Tracy Lundy (Rebecca) of Salisbury; daughter Vicki Lundy Stewart (Mark) of New Bern; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern with the Rev. Barry Teague officiating.  Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the service at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens in Havelock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Broaden the Creek Building fund at Brices Creek Bible Church.
