Charles E. Chappell

SUFFOLK, VA – Charles Edward Chappell, 79, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015. He was born in North Carolina to the late Howard and Bernice Chappell. His favorite hobbies included hunting and fishing. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a paratrooper.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Deborah Matthews (Mike); son, Craig Chappell (Judy); grandchildren, Christopher Foster, Christy Chappell, and William Tyler Tadlock; sisters, Mary C. Jones (Lloyd Jr.), Elizabeth C. Brinkley (James Earl), and Kaye Winslow (Phil); brothers, Ronald E. Chappell (Carolyn), and William H. “Billy” Chappell (Toledo); and many numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Winters officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6-7 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W Washington St., Suffolk.
