CONWAY/GREENVILLE – Rodney “Kent” Barrett, 50, of Greenville, NC passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his parent’s home in Conway, NC.

He recently retired from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after 23 years and worked part-time at Rouse Mortuary Service & Crematory for 20 years. He was a member of Conway United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Rudy Barrett, and Albert and Mildred Hill.

He will be remembered most as a kind hearted person, always willing to help others, for his love of family & friends and his love of NASCAR.

He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Betty Barrett of Conway; a sister, Kim Bryant and her husband Mike of Woodland; his two nephews, Matt and Brad Bryant and Brad’s wife Emily; and a very special friend, Kathy Harvey.

Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway is handling the arrangements.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Conway Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hill officiating.  Those who wish to visit the family may do so at the home of Rodney and Betty Barrett, 611 E. Main Street, Conway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Conway-Severn Rescue Squad, Conway Volunteer Fire Department or Conway United Methodist Church.
