COLERAIN – Clifton Lee Shearin, 77, of Colerain and Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015.

He was born in Halifax County on February 22, 1938 to the late Thomas Robert and Ida Mae Harper Shearin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Leigh Shearin; a son, Clifton Lee Shearin, Jr.; a brother, William Shearin; and a step daughter, Katie Medford. He served four years in the U.S. Army and worked as an electrician for many years.

Clifton is survived by his son, Rocky Shearin of Colerain, NC; a daughter, Brenda Adams (Roger) of Colerain, NC; mother of his children, Louise West;  grandchildren, Brandon Fountain, Beth Chappell, Paul Shearin, Pamela Belhumeur, Tabitha Tanner, and Kelly Denton, all of Rocky Mount; step grandchildren, Steven Adams of Colerain and Chris Stacy (Emily) of Roanoke Rapids; great grandchildren, Brandon Fountain Jr., Wesley, Dylan, Landon Fountain, Luke Stacy, Trey Jr., Mason, Ashton, Brook and Johnathon, all of Rocky Mount; sister, Nancy Thomas (Bill) of Dublin, VA; brothers, Richard Shearin of Nashville, Mack Shearin (Betty), and Claude Shearin (Ruby), both of Battleboro; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville, NC with visitation following the service.
