Crystal L. Whitley

MURFREESBORO – Crystal Liverman Whitley, age 73, of Murfreesboro passed away at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on Friday, July 24, 2015.  Crystal was born to the late V. J. Liverman and Juliette Liverman on August 12, 1941.

Crystal graduated from Murfreesboro High School.  She worked at WWDR radio station.  She also assisted her husband as co-owner of R. O. Whitley, Inc. farm supply dealership.

In 1959 Crystal married R.O “Dick” Whitley and to this marriage was born four daughters.  She was an avid Washington Redskins football fan. She enjoyed participating in her grandchildren’s lives and loved to listen to music and dance.

Left to honor Crystal and remember her love are her four daughters, Sharon Whitley Isley, Sandra “Sandy” Banks and her husband Allan, Kathy Thompson and her husband Lee, and Kelli Whitley; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Kayla, Blake, Logan, Hunter, Allie, Kaitlyn, Danielle and Kaycee; three great-grandsons, Landon, Colton and Colin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, V. J. and Juliette Liverman; her husband, Dick Whitley; her sister, Jackie Barnes; and her brother, Buck Liverman.

Her daughters and her grandchildren were her life, she lived for them.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Buckhorn Baptist Church in Como, NC with the Rev. Sean Gallagher officiating.  The burial will follow at the Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery.
