RICH SQUARE – Mr. William A. “Al” Boone, age 70 of Rich Square, NC, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Al was born July 20, 1944 in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Wilson Boone and Rockie Lassiter Boone. He was also predeceased by a brother, Lemuel Boone. He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and a Shriner. He retired from farming and the NC Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Medford Boone; his daughters, Deborah Duke Bryant (Heath) and Cindy Duke Krentz (Scott); his grandsons, Adam and Joshua; two sisters, Marilyn Wheeler (Stuart), and Mary Ruth Boone; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Verna Bracy; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC.  Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
