WOODLAND – Jimmy Greene Collier, age 76, of Woodland, passed away on May 18, 2015 at the Rich Square Health Care Center.

He was born on June 12, 1938 to Luther and Katherine Bridgers Collier in, Northampton County, NC. Jimmy was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed going to Dick Daughtry’s store for his Dr. Pepper, pack of nabs and fellowship with the locals. Jimmy enjoyed the simple life and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Vinson Collier.

Jimmy is survived by his sister, Doris Collier Sitterson of Smithfield, NC; his brother, Perry Lee Collier, Sr. of Woodland, NC; three nephews, Michael Howell of Farmville, NC, Perry Lee Collier Jr. and wife Yvonne of Woodland, NC, and Robert Luther Collier and wife Pam of Woodland, NC; two nieces, Betty Lou Stickland of Smithfield, NC, and Deborah Collier Floyd and husband Alton of Florence, SC; along with a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Rich Square Chapel, Rich Square, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Woodland, NC, with the Rev. Brian Jenkins officiating.
