Alden Pearce

LYNCHBURG, VA – Alden “Tritt” Pearce, age 72, went home to be with his Lord on May 9, 2015.

Mr. Pearce was born on December 30, 1942, in Mars Hill, Bertie County, NC, a son of the late Samuel and Lillie Cherry Pearce. He was retired after 20 years of service working at Berkley Machine Shop in Norfolk, VA.  After retirement, Tritt enjoyed traveling, fishing and “junking”.

Besides his parents, Tritt was preceded in death by his brothers, JT, Jelette, Harvey, Sam and Clyde Pearce; and his beloved dog, Bridgett.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Chris Allen Pearce of Lynchburg, VA; his  daughter, Tammy Hardison and husband, Joey of Smithfield, VA; his son, Danny Clarke and wife, Edie of Goode, VA; a grandson, his “little buddy” Blake; granddaughters, Amber, Jennifer, Jessica, Krystina, Taylore, and Madisyn; and great grandchildren, Kyra, Alaina, and Kelton.  He is also survived by his sisters, Harriett White, and Bessie Mitchell; and brothers, Ed and Bike Pearce; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, followed by a graveside service at Ahoskie Cemetery.  A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on May 12, 2105, at Wayside Baptist Church, 712 Canal Drive, Chesapeake VA, 23323, followed immediately by a visitation with the family in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayside Baptist Church, Building Fund, or the Gideon Society.

The family would like to express their great appreciation to the employees of the Privette Home in Lynchburg for their care and compassion to their husband and father during his stay there.
