WINDSOR – Arthur “Artie” Lane Johnson, 47, of 105 Charles Taylor Road, Windsor, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

He was born in Bertie County on December 7, 1967 to the late Lewis Clayton and Elmarie White Johnson and was also predeceased by a brother, Perry Clayton Johnson.

Artie was a member of Askewville Assembly of God. He was a safety coordinator with the lumber industry and active with Bertie County Relay for Life, Bertie County Relief and the Samaritan Purse.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April  4, 2015 at 5 p.m. at Askewville Assembly of God by the Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Leigh Garris Johnson of the home; sons, Anthony Clayton Johnson and Caleb Lee Johnson, both of Windsor; sister, Sharon J. Jernigan of Windsor; brothers, Gilbert Anthony “Tony” Johnson and wife Shirley of Windsor, Michael Lewis Johnson and wife Jannie of Colerain, and J. E. Johnson and wife Pam of Windsor.
