COLERAIN – Ashley Dalton Harrell, 61, of Colerain, passed away on March 7, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

He was born on March 4, 1954 to Leroy and Pauline White Harrell in Hertford County, NC. Ashley was an avid hunter and fisherman that loved the river and boating, especially at Colerain Beach. He was a member of the Corn Pile Hunting Club and also enjoyed NASCAR racing. Ashley loved his family and friends; his eyeball being his grandson Brody. Everything he did was his way, living life to the fullest.

Along with his parents, Ashley was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy White; and his step-father, Hurbert Turner.

Ashley is survived by his wife Sheryl; son Brandon Harrell and wife Danielle of Colerain, NC; grandson, Brody Harrell of Colerain, NC, three sisters, Rachel Davis and husband C.B. of Ahoskie, NC, Gretchen Rodda and husband Pete of Roper, NC, and Juanita Dover and husband Tom of Roper, NC; a brother, Drap Harrell and wife Joy of Ahoskie, NC; a step-brother, Buddy Turner and wife Annette of Greensboro, NC; and step-sister, JoAnn Turner of Greensboro, NC.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, NC, with the Rev. Gary Saffel officiating.
