AULANDER – Fred Frank Swetley, age 81 of Aulander, NC, passed away February 24, 2015 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Fred was born June 6, 1933 in Bertie County North Carolina, the son of the late Frank Swetley and Lucille Hall Swetley. Mr. Swetley was a talented carpenter working most of his life as a carpenter constructing many things from houses, decks, porches to fixing anything people requested of him.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Evelyn Harrell of Ahoskie; his four nieces, Rachel Warren and her husband Ben of Murfreesboro, NC, Sheryl Harrell and husband Ashley of Colerain, NC, Anne Long and husband Mike of Eure, NC and Sue Hewitt of Ahoskie, NC; his two nephews, Alan Harrell and his wife Frances of Ahoskie, NC and Kenny Harrell and his wife Michelle of Ahoskie, NC; and several great nieces and one great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC with the Rev. Jim Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Hall-Rogerson Cemetery in Aulander, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
