COLERAIN – Lucille Jernigan Perry, age 92, of Colerain, went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband, George Donald Perry, Sr., on February 12, 2015.

Mrs. Perry was born on March 30, 1922 to the late Franklin and Lena White Jernigan in Bertie County, NC. Lucille was a homemaker who enjoyed not only sewing, but all needlework, and doll making. She was a faithful member of Colerain Baptist Church for many years. She loved her church family, but the most important thing in her life was her family.

Besides her husband and parents, Lucille was predeceased by all nine of her siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, George Donald “Buck” Perry Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Colerain, NC; two daughters, Bonnie Perry Britton of Colerain, NC, and Phyllis Perry Bradshaw and husband, Frankie of Greenville, NC; granddaughters, Anissa Davenport and husband, David of Greenville, NC, and Kari Dawn Pierce and husband, Brent of Ahoskie, NC; grandsons, Heath  Boyer and wife, Abigail of Greenville, NC, George Donald  Perry, III and wife, Lauren of Colerain, NC, and Perry Deans Britton and wife Christin of Farmville, NC; and  great-grandchildren, Allie Davenport, Rachel Davenport, Laynie Boyer, Henry Buck Pierce, and Bennett Franklin Pierce.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Colerain Baptist Church, Colerain, NC, with the Rev. Gary Saffell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Perry at anytime, and immediately following the graveside service.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the Colerain Fire Department.
