Red Byrum

GREER, SC – Henry Garvis “Red” Byrum, 76, of 119 Bridge Creek Drive, Greer, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
He was the husband of Janice Elaine Miller Byrum of the home and the son of the late Henry Ruben and Nettie Ray Suis Byrum. He worked in construction and built homes. Red was an excellent craftsman and loved playing golf. He had a heart of gold and more patience than most.
In addition to his wife, Red is survived by his son, Greg Byrum and wife Debbie; daughter, June Holliday and husband Don; step-children, Sharon Haydon and husband Jeff, Ray Hildreth and wife Janet, Donna Wilson and husband Sonny, and Steven Hildreth. He is also survived by four grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, twenty-four step-great-grandchildren, and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was one of 13 children, and is survived by his siblings Spencer, Roger, Mary, Pat, and Winnie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 1 o’clock, Sunday, February 8th, at Jarvisburg Church of Christ, 121 Forbes Rd, Jarvisburg, NC 27947, with Pastor Dennis Crehan officiating.
