WOODLAND – Millard Archer Lane age 81, of Woodland, NC died January 30, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Mr. Lane was born November 8, 1933 in Lasker, NC, the son of the late Horace Vance Lane and Irma Lassiter Lane.  He was also predeceased by two brothers, Vance Thomas Lane and Ray Lister Lane.

He was a retired supervisor with Union Camp Corp. and a veteran of the US Army.

He was a very good provider for his wife and family and helped many people during his life.

He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Nell Butler Lane; his daughter, Wanda L. Moberly and her husband Steve of Midway, Kentucky; his son, Barry Lane of Woodland; two brothers, Horace Huland Lane of Durham, NC and Charles Hubert Lane of Newport News, VA; four grandchildren, Jamie Lloyd, Travis Miller and his wife Ashley, Jermey Lane and Christopher Lane; and two great grandchildren, and his baby “Emmy Sue”.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
