LEWISTON-WOODVILLE – Helen Leggett Whitehead, age 87, passed away February 1, 2015 at Three Rivers Health & Rehab Center in Windsor, NC.

Helen was born January 10, 1928 in Bertie County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late George Daniel Leggett and Fannie Thomas Leggett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bill” Henry Whitehead, Jr.

Greg would like to thank his mother Helen and father Joseph for adopting him at the age of three months old and raising him into the man he is today. Helen was a very loving wife, mother and friend too many willing to give anyone the shirt off her back as those who knew her well would understand. She deeply loved her family and all the children she came in contact with.
