Edward B. Lassiter

WOODLAND – Mr. Edward Burden Lassiter, age 71, of Woodland passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on November 10, 1943 to William and Hilda Bazemore Lassiter in Lewiston, NC. Edward was a previous employee of Parkers Manufacturing Co. before becoming owner and operator of Tri-County Small Motors in Woodland. He enjoyed racing and raced go-carts in the early 80’s, leaving him with the passion of watching drag racing and NASCAR racing during his later years. Edward loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Kay Lassiter; a sister, Hilda Byrum; and a brother, William Jorden Lassiter, Jr.

Edward is survived by his wife Brenda; two sons, Edward Keith and his wife Devona Lassiter of Woodland, and Travis and his wife Crystie Lassiter of Aulander; a sister, Okie Lee Bennett of Roxobel; a brother, Milton and his wife Joyce Lassiter of Oak City; two granddaughters, Kailey and Gracie Lassiter; and two grandsons, Austin and  Landon Lassiter.

A graveside Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NC, with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The Lassiter family will receive friends at the home at anytime.
