ASKEWVILLE – Martha Farmer Bryant, 77 of 109 Askewville-Bryant Street in Askewville, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home.

She was born in Martin County on April 21, 1937 to the late William Harvey and Martha Thompson Farmer and was predeceased by her husband, Elbert Ray Bryant, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Martha was a member of Askewville Assembly of God where she served as Sunday school treasurer for 30 years.  She was a former cafeteria manager at Askewville Elementary School.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askewville Assembly of God by the Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia D. Harrell (Howard), and Gloria Bryant, both of Askewville, Martha Ray Twine of Robersonville, and Roberta Lynn Cummings (Paul) of Greensboro; sister, Mildred F. Johnson of Askewville; grandchildren, Vann Harrell (Jarren), Chris Harrison (Melissa), Carla Pesce (Dave), and Greg Harrison; and great grandchildren, David and Caelyn Pesce, Sarah and Christopher Harrison, Sarah and Piper Harrell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor, and from the home at other times.
