STOKES – Mrs. Joyce Allen Warren, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, surrounded by her loving children.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Robersonville.

Mrs. Warren was born and raised in PittCounty.  She was married at a young age to her sweetheart, Lindsay Ray Warren, and was happily married for 57 years. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a long time member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, having taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed reading and being with her family and was famous for her homemade mayonnaise cake.  For the past four years, while living with Patrise and Troy, she enjoyed her new church family at Winton Baptist Church and meeting new friends.  Prior to her own declining health, she enjoyed visiting shut-ins and helping others in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patrise Godwin and husband, Troy, of Cofield, and Linda Jo Basden and husband, Larry, of Lawndale; son Allen Warren of Stokes; grandchildren who she adored, Lyndsay Beaulieu and husband, Jason, of Goldsboro, and Wesley Warren and Ethan Warren, both of Stokes; and great grandchildren, Jordyn, Taylor and Emily Beaulieu.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral hour from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Oak Grove Church of Christ, 4359 NC Hwy 903, Robersonville, NC 27871.
