Joseph L. Mizelle Jr.

WINDSOR – Joseph Leonard Mizelle Jr., 68, of 308 South King Street, Windsor, died Wednesday November 26, 2014 at his home. He was born in Bertie County on October 4, 1946 to the late Joseph Leonard and Pauline Jernigan Mizelle Sr.

Mr. Mizelle owned and operated Mizelle Accounting. Joe loved being with his family. He was a member of Askewville Assembly of God Church and coached the basketball team for Bethel Christian Academy from 1988 until 2010, wining several state championships over the years.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 29, 2014 at Askewville Assembly of God Church with the Rev. R.O. Denton Jr. and the Rev. Emanuel Webb Hoggard officiating the services. Burial will follow at EdgewoodCemetery.

Survivors include; his wife, Brenda White Mizelle; sons, Jimmy Mizelle of Nags Head, and Joe Dunlow and wife Wendy of Askewville; daughters, Michelle White and husband Jason of Windsor, and Tammy Palmer of Aulander; three sisters, Beatrice Babb, Patty Ruth Todd, and Margaret Dilday, all of Askewville, and Barbara Williford of Windsor; and 10 grandchildren, Brandy-jo Tinkham and husband Daniel, Marky Palmer, Zabian Palmer Avery White, Isabella White, Paisley White, Jenna Dunlow, Mason Dunlow, Joshua Dunlow, and Kristian Mulder.

The family will receive friends from the home at other times.
