COLERAIN – Michael Brent Mizelle, 60, of 238 New Road, Colerain, died Thursday August 21, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.  He was born in Hertford County on September 11, 1953 to the late Eugene and Inetta Mizelle.

Mike was a supervisor with the Department of Transportation, Williamston equipment shed. He was a choir member and Deacon of Askewville Baptist Church; member of the Askewville Volunteer Fire Department; member of the Crossover Band; and also a member of SENAC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askewville Baptist Church by the Rev. Steven Moore and the Rev. Billy Presley. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Carol M. Mizelle of the home; daughter, Leslie Mizelle Barefoot and husband Brandon of Morehead City; and a brother, Ronnie Mizelle of Colerain.

The family will receive friends from the home.
