HENRICO – Charles Sidney Griffin, 75, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at his residence. He was a Pitt County, NC native born to the late Sidney Lanier and Madeline MacAdams Griffin.

Mr. Griffin was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Bertie-Hertford Data Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 at Woodland Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Woodland Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Griffin Key of Amherst, VA, Amy Lanier Atkinson of Mineral, VA, and Charles S. Griffin Jr. of California, and Elizabeth Tinsley Robertson; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Flowers are acceptable; the family asks that any memorials be made to the Woodland Baptist Church, 116 W. Main Street, Woodland, NC27897.
