HARRELLSVILLE – Jacqueline Rowe Baker, age 78 of Harrellsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, NC. She was born on January 29, 1936 to the late Colon and Louise Brewer Rowe in Raleigh.

Jacqueline worked as a Lab Tech in the Health Care Industry for 38 years. She was very active in First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, and was an active former member of Christian Harbor Church Baptist of Harrellsville, serving as Sunday School Teacher and other various capacities. Mrs. Baker served as past President of Ahoskie Women’s Club and was very active with the Harrellsville Historical Society. Taking care of her family was top priority for Mrs. Baker and she loved doing things for them especially cooking. Mrs. Baker’s grandson, Gabriel Baker, was her pride and joy, spending as much time as she could with him.

Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of the home; two sons, Michael Baker and his wife, Marla, of Askewville, and Richard Baker III and his wife, Hilary, of Raleigh; one grandson, Gabriel Baker of Askewville, and one brother, Colon Rowe and his wife, Joyce, of Richmond, VA.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, and other times at the home.

There will be burial at 9:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service on Friday, February 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie.
