MURRELLS INLET, SC – Carolyn Lawyer, age 88, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on January 27, 2014 at the Agape Senior of Murrells Inlet, SC.

She was born on December 13, 1925 to Carroll and Joanna Kiff Lowe in Ahoskie, NC where she was a longtime resident. Carolyn worked as a Federal Government employee for the CIA in which she retired in 1975.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Lawyer was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur “Bill” Lawyer; and a sister, Mattie Schwlenburg.

Carolyn is survived by her step-son, Jeffery Lawyer and his wife, Judy, of Murrells Inlet, SC; two sisters, Maragret L. Burden of Aulander, and Mildred L Staton of Goldsboro; two granddaughters, Robyn Salisbury and husband, Joe, of Damascus, MD and Tara McGaha and husband, Dell, of Rock Hill, SC; a great-granddaughter, Lindsay Salisbury of Damascus, MD; three great-grandsons, Joey and Max Salisbury of Damascus, MD, and Weston McGaha of Rock Hill; and the original seven nieces and nephews.

A memorial service followed a private family burial on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie with the Rev. Dr. Jesse Croom officiating.
