AULANDER – Mrs. Elizabeth Willoughby “Libby” Morris, age 91, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Pine Forest Rest Home in Woodland.

Mrs. Morris was born in Washington County, NC on July 13, 1922, a daughter of the late Kate Darden and John Beasley Willoughby. She was a faithful member of Aulander Baptist Church; the Joy Club; the Aulander Civic League; and the Aulander Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary.  Libby was a homemaker; a wonderful cook; and avid gardener, enjoying working in her yard.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, EverettLeon “Buddy” Morris, Jr. and wife, Emily Rose, of Mountain Brook, AL; Billy “Bill” Morris and wife, Vicky, of Greenville, and John Lewis “Jack” Morris of Aulander; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Beside her parents, Libby was predeceased by her husband,

Everett Leon Morris, Sr.; and brothers, John E. Willoughby, and Billy Day Willoughby.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Aulander Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robbie Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in Aulander Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, on Tuesday, December 17, from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Aulander Baptist Church, P.O. Box 220, Aulander, NC, 27805; or to Pine Forest Rest Home, 3277 NC Hwy 35, Woodland, NC, 27897.
