AHOSKIE – Blanche Lee Culley Gordon, age 78, died at the Vidant-Roanoke-Chowan Hospital on Friday, December 13, 2013.  She was a born in UnionCounty to the late Mary Lee Culley and the late Colon Culley.  She worked and retired as a Deli Manager for the Red Apple Market for ten years in Powellsville.  She attended the Carpenter Shop Church in Ahoskie.

Also preceding her in death is her husband, Leonard E. Gordon, Sr.; her son, Leonard E. Gordon, Jr.; her sister, Sarah Elliot; her brother Fred Culley; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her life time companion, Henry E. Jenkins of Ahoskie; three daughters, Lynne Britton and her husband, Bobby, of Franklin, VA., Terry Carpenter and her husband, Larry, of  Lousa, VA and Wanda Deese and her husband, Randolph, of Monroe, NC.  Also surviving are four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family has chosen to honor the wishes of Mrs. Gordon and not have any type of memorial services.
