COFIELD – Helen Smith Wall, 85, of 250 No Say Lane, Cofield, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in her home.

Mrs. Wall was born in Hertford County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Gaston and Sallie Bazemore Smith.  The retired co-owner and operator of Helen & Evelyn’s Beauty Salon in Colerain, she was a member and deacon of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 20 years, Allen Wall; a daughter, Evelyn Hoggard of Cofield; a son, E.J. Burbage, Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Portsmouth, VA; a sister, Ethel Marie Lewis of Tunis; and a brother, Kent Smith of Cofield.  Also surviving are Allen’s sons, Dr. James Allen Wall and wife, Diane, of Bryan, TX, and Mark Wall and wife, Kimberly, of ElizabethCity.  Together Helen and Allen shared three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Holly Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Gilbert Crawford and the Rev. H.C. Boschen.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements.
