AULANDER – Betty Louise Lassiter Hurdle, age 87, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Mrs. Hurdle was born April 21, 1926 in Hertford County, the daughter of the late Carlton Lassiter and Meddie Outland Lassiter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hurdle, and a grandson, Keith Hurdle.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Hurdle and his wife, Gaila, of Aulander; her grandson, the Rev. Greg Hurdle; two step grandchildren, Stacy Blowe and Troy Hand; eight great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Aulander, with the Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow at Job Cemetery, Aulander.

Massey Funeral Home, Aulander, handed the arrangements where visitation was held Friday evening.
