Julia M. Beasley

RICHMOND, VA – Julia Martin Beasley, widow of Clarence Joseph Beasley, went to be with her Lord on June 6, 2013.

Born June 16, 1919, in Milwaukee, N.C. to the late Junius Ira Martin and Blannie Liverman Martin, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, and her step-mother, Hattie Mae Bridgers Martin.

She is survived by daughters Ethel Marie B. Dickey and husband Thomas E. Dickey, and Polly B. Dowdy and husband J. Stephen Dowdy. In addition, her loving memory will be cherished by her five grandchildren, Leslie Borman (Tom), Susan Berry (Dean), David Dowdy (Elizabeth), Tara Hatcher, and Thomas Dickey, and nine great-grandchildren, Melanie, Madison, Sam, Max, Kendall, Carter, Cameron, Reagan and Ryley.

Mrs. Beasley was a wonderful homemaker and partner/bookkeeper at her husband’s business in Mechanicsville, Virginia, until their retirement in 1985.

Services were conducted at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home, 3821 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Virginia, on June 10, 2013.  Interment was at Westhampton Memorial Park.
