LEWISTON-WOODVILLE – Glenwood Earl Bazemore, Sr., 84, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Mr. Bazemore was born April 28, 1928 in Bertie County to the late Thomas Bunch and Mary Elizabeth Conner Bazemore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Bazemore; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gilroy; his sons, Glenwood Earl Bazemore, Jr. and Danny Gray Bazemore; and his half sister, Janice B. Miller.

He was the owner of Glenwood Bazemore floor finishing for 50+ years and served his country during World War II in the US Navy.

Surviving are his daughters, Joyce B. Wilson and husband, Lee, of White Plains, MD, and Cynthia Garner of Goldsboro; his son, James Lewis Bazemore of Winchester, VA; and 47 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday November 9, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Aulander. Interment will follow in the Stoney Creek Cemetery, Ahoskie.
