Fire engulfs Woodland home

WOODLAND – A resident here lost nearly everything in a fire that destroyed the mobile home she was renting.

On Tuesday, Woodland and Conway fire departments responded to a fire call at 170 Springfield Lane in Creekside Mobile Home Park near Woodland.

According to Woodland Fire Chief Cleve Bowen, his department was dispatched at approximately 9 p.m. to a call in reference to an oven fire.

Upon arrival, Bowen said the front half of the mobile home was fully involved and fire was blowing out the windows and door.

Woodland Fire Department responded with two engines and 13 firefighters while Conway responded with two engines and 14 firefighters. Crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly.

Bowen said a woman and a child were home at the time of the fire, but escaped.

The trailer was reportedly a loss.

Bowen said he has contacted the Red Cross to assist the family.

He thanked the Conway Fire Department for their assistance.
